Trovo estremamente difficile credere che qualcuno possa vivere un'esperienza così sfortunata al campo estivo al parco! I miei figli frequentano questo campo da tre anni consecutivi e sono diventati parte di quella che sento essere una "famiglia estiva". Mai una volta nessuno dei miei figli è tornato a casa lamentandosi di essere stato vittima di bullismo in alcun modo. In effetti, le amicizie e le relazioni che hanno formato mentre in questo campo si sono spostate oltre i confini dell'estate ai confini delle proprietà del parco, queste amicizie continuano anche nei mesi invernali. È un vero piacere per me guardare mentre tornano ogni estate dal loro staff e/o consulenti preferiti. Ho detto abbastanza spesso a mio marito che nei giorni in cui accompagno e raccolgo i bambini, quei consulenti hanno lo stesso sorriso sulle labbra di quella mattina al rientro. Quanto a 'Queen Mary' (sì, anche io la chiamo così), questa donna gestisce un intero campo! Un giorno ho chiesto da quanto tempo alcuni dei suoi dipendenti erano stati al Park solo per sapere che tornavano anno dopo anno dopo anno. Uno dei motivi per cui riporto indietro i miei figli ogni anno è la stabilità nel vedere gli stessi volti familiari. Quindi, faccio questa domanda: se la Queen Mary è "rude e sprezzante e ha personale, consulenti e campeggiatori che la chiamano Queen Mary", allora come fa a mantenere il personale abbastanza felice da farli tornare continuamente, anno dopo anno dopo anno. Non ho mai sentito niente di così assurdo da molto tempo. Sì, è costantemente in movimento e sì, a volte potrebbe essere altrimenti occupata mentre cerca di coordinare flussi di auto che raccolgono bambini, personale che fa domande, bambini che corrono per i suoi abbracci, ma sprezzante? Non potrei essere più in disaccordo! È stata a dir poco adorabile con me e la mia famiglia e sono rattristato nel leggere una recensione così negativa e scandalosamente offensiva su una donna che non mostra altro che rispetto, tempo e felicità nei nostri confronti.

Se ti piace pagare per un campo completamente disorganizzato e dove tu come genitore verrai trattato con mancanza di rispetto e dove tuo figlio sarà vittima di bullismo, allora Summer at Park è il programma che fa per te. Gli amministratori di Estate al Parco non possono tenere traccia della fatturazione, perdono i moduli richiesti, non rispondono al telefono, e consentono determinati alimenti in una sessione, ma non in un'altra. Mary Russell, la direttrice di Summer at Park, può essere descritta solo come scortese e sprezzante. In effetti, si riferisce a se stessa senza scuse, e tutti i consiglieri e i campeggiatori si riferiscono a lei, come la regina Mary. Un giorno mia figlia è tornata a casa dal campo chiedendomi: chi è la regina Mary? Quando ho chiesto perché, ha risposto che i consiglieri le avevano detto che la regina Mary è responsabile dell'intero campo, di tutti i consiglieri e dei campeggiatori e di tutte le mamme. La Park School si propone come una comunità in cui viene rispettata la dignità di ogni bambino, insegnante e genitore. Trovo incongruo che la Park School trovi accettabile che il direttore del suo programma estivo si riferisca a se stessa come un monarca e ancora più inquietante che le sia permesso di trattare tutti, compresi i genitori, come suoi sudditi. L'affermazione di Summer at Park che ha una tolleranza zero per il bullismo, quando viene messa in pratica, si traduce semplicemente in una negazione completa e totale che il bullismo sta accadendo senza nient'altro. È davvero un peccato che The Park School non apprezzi abbastanza la propria reputazione da garantire che non venga offuscata dal programma estivo.
