Sound City ci è stato consigliato da diverse fonti da utilizzare come DJ per il nostro matrimonio al Bostonian Hotel nell'ottobre 2019. Dopo la nostra esperienza con questa compagnia, non condivideremmo questa raccomandazione con altri che cercano un DJ per matrimoni.
Nei mesi che hanno preceduto la cerimonia Bill (il proprietario di Sound City) ha comunicato con noi diverse volte, apparentemente assicurandosi che le prestazioni della sua compagnia avrebbero soddisfatto le nostre aspettative. Avevamo diverse richieste specifiche che, grazie alle nostre conversazioni con Bill, sentivamo fortemente che non sarebbero state un problema per Sound City da seguire.
Alcune di queste richieste erano:
- Avendo la canzone che mia moglie ha camminato lungo la navata per essere sbiadita ad una certa ora per evitare certi testi.
- Far iniziare e interrompere la canzone di introduzione del nostro ricevimento in momenti specifici in modo che venga riprodotta una certa parte della canzone.
- Playlist specifiche con brani che dovevano essere riprodotti in diverse parti dell'evento (pre-cerimonia, cocktail hour, cena, ecc.).
Come affermato, Bill ci ha rassicurato sul fatto che tutte queste richieste non sarebbero state un problema da soddisfare e ha persino lavorato con me specificamente al telefono per determinare esattamente quando determinate canzoni dovrebbero essere sbiadite in entrata o in uscita e quando ciascuna playlist fornita dovrebbe essere utilizzata.
Avanti veloce al giovedì prima del matrimonio. La mia attuale moglie ha ricevuto una telefonata da Brad, un impiegato di Sound City, che si è presentato e ha chiesto se avessimo domande per la cerimonia. Questo è stato sorprendente per noi, poiché avevamo l'impressione che Bill avrebbe lavorato al nostro matrimonio, soprattutto dopo aver comunicato e coordinato così tanti dettagli e specifiche con Bill riguardo al nostro evento. Brad ci ha rassicurato che questo non era un problema e che aveva tutto sotto controllo.

-La canzone d'ingresso della sposa non è stata interrotta quando l'abbiamo coordinata, lasciando un verso piuttosto deprimente e infelice da suonare mentre la cerimonia più felice della nostra vita era appena iniziata.
-Il microfono attaccato al mio bavero e usato durante la cerimonia era troppo rumoroso quando ho parlato (sono stato praticamente costretto a sussurrare) e troppo silenzioso per mia moglie (ho dovuto fare in modo di sporgermi in avanti quando ha parlato) .
-Poco prima dell'inizio della cerimonia (quando i nervi di mia moglie erano al massimo), Brad ha chiesto al nostro coordinatore del matrimonio di chiedere a mia moglie di che colore doveva essere l'illuminazione per il ricevimento (qualcosa che abbiamo coordinato con Bill durante le nostre conversazioni), e poi ha chiesto mia moglie subito dopo il matrimonio mentre stavamo firmando il nostro certificato di matrimonio. Questo mi ha infastidito molto perché so lo stress che mia moglie stava provando quel giorno (almeno fino a quando non è stata servita la cena). Chiunque nel settore del matrimonio sa di non disturbare la sposa il giorno del matrimonio, soprattutto con un minimo dettaglio.
-Durante il ricevimento, la nostra canzone di introduzione non è stata avviata o è svanita nei momenti appropriati, rendendo il nostro ingresso imbarazzante soprattutto considerando che siamo rimasti in piedi di fronte ai partecipanti in attesa dell'inizio del nostro primo ballo per almeno 10 secondi (un tempo molto lungo stare in piedi ad aspettare con 200 occhi che ti guardano).
-L'ultimo brano della serata (pre-richiesto e coordinato da noi) è stato molto infruttuoso e deludente. Due tracce separate della stessa canzone sono state riprodotte l'una sull'altra, facendole sovrapporre, rendendolo completamente impercettibile e confondendo gli ospiti.
-Sono state riprodotte più canzoni che erano specificamente nella nostra lista di non riprodurre.

La cosa più sconvolgente che è successa è che le playlist e le canzoni che avevo coordinato con Bill non sono state seguite o utilizzate. Ho dovuto parlare con Brad più volte durante il ricevimento per scoprire che Brad non ha ricevuto affatto quelle liste, anche se ha fatto ogni tentativo di lavorare in alcune di quelle canzoni dopo che ne ho parlato. Ciò è stato particolarmente frustrante considerando il tempo e gli sforzi che io e mia moglie abbiamo impiegato per renderli unicamente nostri, nonché la continua rassicurazione di Bill che la nostra richiesta di utilizzare queste playlist non era affatto un problema.
Da quello che possiamo raccogliere, sembra che a Brad sia stata data la quantità minima di informazioni per svolgere il suo lavoro e non gli sia stato dato il documento che avevo preparato (che includeva informazioni importanti, come quando sfumare/terminare alcune canzoni, Not Play, così come brani specifici che avremmo voluto far suonare durante l'intero evento).
Dopo l'evento abbiamo inviato un'e-mail a Bill e comunicato le nostre preoccupazioni sopra elencate, e abbiamo ricevuto una risposta che affermava che avrebbe seguito Brad e ci avrebbe ricontattato. Era la fine di ottobre 2019. Non abbiamo ricevuto risposta da nessuno a Sound City in merito a questa questione da quella risposta iniziale, anche dopo aver contattato più volte per vedere se erano stati fatti progressi.
Non vogliamo che altre coppie passino quello che abbiamo passato il giorno del nostro matrimonio.
