Un bel modo per trascorrere un pomeriggio. Personale gentile e ben strutturato. Ottimo affare per soli $ 2!

Non provare nemmeno ad andarci se hai un cane con te. Sebbene sia presente un cartello per divieto di cibo e bevande, non c'è nulla che indichi che gli animali non sono ammessi. L'uomo che ci ha accolti non ci ha salutato affatto. Da subito è stato scortese e sulla difensiva. Siamo abbastanza ragionevoli da renderci conto che non tutti i luoghi di quella natura consentono ai cani, anche ai cani di piccola taglia in tracolla, di trasportare borse. Siamo stati più che benvenuti in molti di questi luoghi, compresi alcuni famosi e non lo sappiamo finché non lo chiediamo. Giusto?
Il punto è che, anche se il cane non fosse autorizzato, un atteggiamento più cordiale avrebbe potuto fare molto e incoraggiarci a tornare quando non avevamo il cane con noi sarebbe stato accettabile. In realtà, qualcosa di meglio del saluto burbero che abbiamo ricevuto sarebbe stato accettabile. Allo stato attuale, non prenderemmo in considerazione la possibilità di tornare.

Il fronte del sito web e dei social media è estremamente informativo. Informazioni di qualità messe lì da questo personale. Se dovessi visitare la zona, questa sarebbe una delle mie prime tappe.

Abbiamo fatto una gita di un giorno a Stephen City da Washington, DC per conoscere la storia dei neri a Stephen City. Avevo letto in linea su Wikipedia una riga su un villaggio nero liberato un miglio a est di Stephens City negli anni '50 dell'Ottocento. Non sono riuscito a trovare nient'altro su questo fenomeno in linea, quindi abbiamo fatto il viaggio alla fonte. Rick, un impiegato a tempo pieno del museo, ha immediatamente capito cosa stavo chiedendo e ha iniziato a raccontarci tutto di questa civiltà nera libera prima della Guerra Civile. Sapeva esattamente dove si trovava. Rick si era concentrato sulla storia dei neri come parte della sua laurea !!! Perfetto!!!
Quindi, abbiamo chiesto ulteriori informazioni sulla storia della città dopo aver esaminato i manufatti e le esposizioni del museo. Rick ci ha detto che la nostra ammissione di $ 2,00 ci ha anche portato in altri 2 edifici in città se avessimo avuto il tempo di visitarli con lui ... !!! Ovviamente abbiamo avuto il tempo!
Quindi, questa gita di un giorno / campo da Washington ne è valsa la pena. Se ti piace la storia / storia nera, devi fare questo viaggio e ottenere la storia da un professionista ben letto ed entusiasta allo Stephen City Museum!
Quindi prendi dieci minuti di macchina per Winchester e fai una passeggiata lungo il centro commerciale pedonale e prendi qualcosa da mangiare.

È stato stupefacente. Ho visitato per la prima volta l'edificio principale e sembra un normale museo con alcune collezioni e alcune storie.
Ma poi ho saputo che ci sono altri due edifici da visitare ...
La guida mi ha accompagnato al vecchio emporio ed è stato fantastico! Non solo è bello vederlo, ma mi ha raccontato un sacco di storia interessante!
Poi mi ha mostrato anche il vecchio edificio scolastico con il carro dentro e mi ha raccontato di nuovo molte storie.
Lo consiglio vivamente! È anche ottimo per le distanze sociali in quanto non è affollato.
