Ho contattato Kris Redmann, a settembre/ottobre 2014, per chiedere se c'era un avvocato esperto nel settore immobiliare nel suo ufficio di Houston in grado di rivedere alcuni contratti. Avevo bisogno di un avvocato immobiliare che mi guidasse attraverso una transazione immobiliare con un nuovo costruttore di case boutique. C'era un contratto per vendere al costruttore un lotto che possedevo. Inoltre un accordo per l'acquisto di un lotto dallo stesso costruttore e un contratto di costruzione per costruire la mia casa con due unità in affitto.
Redmann sapeva che ero stato coinvolto in due lunghe e costose cause legali. Le cause sono state presentate a causa di un agente immobiliare che non è riuscito a rappresentarmi adeguatamente nell'acquisto di una proprietà nel marzo del 2012. A mia insaputa, l'agente immobiliare ha lavorato per un broker che aveva una reputazione di affari subdoli nel mercato immobiliare di Houston. Inoltre, gli avvocati che ho assunto erano coinvolti in uno sviluppo multimilionario di una casa di città con il broker, ma non sono riusciti a rivelare i conflitti quando li ho assunti.
Pertanto, Redmann sapeva che volevo un avvocato esperto per gestire questa transazione, qualcuno affidabile e competente. Certo, ogni cliente lo vuole, ma conosceva le mie circostanze particolari. Ma gli ho detto espressamente che non avrei mai voluto vedere l'interno di un'altra aula di tribunale finché ho vissuto. Pertanto mi ha indirizzato a Ron Hood, un avvocato nel loro ufficio di Houston per rivedere i contratti.
Prima che assumessi Hood, mi assicurò che poteva rivedere i contratti e tenermi fuori dai guai. Mi ha detto che ero in buone mani e mi ha chiesto di inviargli via email i contratti da rivedere una settimana prima del nostro incontro. Mi disse che era esperto di diritto edile e aveva vinto diverse cause importanti.
Sfortunatamente, Hood avrebbe dovuto darmi istruzioni di non eseguire l'accordo per l'acquisto del terreno dal costruttore o di firmare il contratto di costruzione. Non sapevo che ci fossero problemi con entrambi i contratti nel momento in cui li ha esaminati. Esiste una documentazione di supporto che Hood non ha richiesto e che sarebbe stata cruciale per una revisione approfondita. I documenti sono disponibili negli atti pubblici, quindi avrebbe dovuto cercarli o richiederne una copia al costruttore.
Inoltre il contratto di costruzione mancava di dettagli importanti; era pieno di un miscuglio di tasse gonfiate messe insieme, ed era estremamente vago. Non mi sono reso conto di quanto fosse stato scritto male fino a quando i miei architetti non si sono lamentati del fatto che le ripartizioni dei costi non avevano senso per loro. Inoltre non è riuscito a cambiare la clausola arbitrale in mediazione. Pertanto sono stato costretto a fare causa, quando il costruttore si è rifiutato di ricorrere alla mediazione "gratuita", suggerita dal mio avvocato.
Di conseguenza ho speso oltre $ 50.000 in spese legali e ho numerosi danni irrecuperabili. Mi sono rivolto a un avvocato per intentare la causa al fine di costringere il costruttore a stabilirsi in via stragiudiziale. Mi ha informato durante la preparazione per la nostra udienza del 17 giugno 2017, che Hood avrebbe dovuto rivedere i documenti transazionali e il contratto non avrebbe dovuto essere firmato.
Quando ho chiamato Redmann per discutere del suo aiuto per coprire le spese legali che dovevo sostenere, mi ha detto che non poteva aiutarmi. Pertanto do 1 stella a questa azienda.
