Ho curato mia madre negli ultimi anni della sua vita. Per la maggior parte del tempo, gli infermieri distrettuali sono stati utili e di supporto. Nell'aprile 2020, uno che non aveva un'idea realistica della fragilità della mamma ha eseguito una procedura che ha provocato un dolore lancinante (era la prima volta in 65 anni che ho visto mia madre piangere) e un'infezione. L'infermiera ha telefonato e ho riferito che la mamma soffriva molto. Ha risposto che va bene. Ho ripetuto quello che ho detto. Lentamente. Chiaramente. La sua risposta non è cambiata. Le ho detto che non pensavo andasse bene e che avrei presentato un reclamo. Un'infermiera che ha telefonato il giorno successivo sembrava più preoccupata, ma ha detto che il dolore era normale. Avevamo solo paracetamolo. Ci siamo sentiti totalmente impotenti.

Come ho scoperto in seguito, quando ho voluto sapere cosa avevano scritto nei loro appunti, ho visto che nessuno dei due aveva registrato il dolore. Ho anche scoperto che l'infermiera 1 aveva deciso di trattare il mio reclamo utilizzando un'indagine di salvaguardia. E dipingendomi come un'isterica. Molto anni '50. È iniziato tre giorni prima della morte di mia madre, aiutata da un fratello con un disturbo psicologico che ha fornito alcune scelte false per aiutare il caso.

La fiducia ha chiesto scuse, ma l'infermiera è riuscita a farla franca con il suo comportamento non professionale. Penso che meritiamo di meglio. Non meritavo l assassinio del personaggio che alcune delle infermiere hanno usato per coprire il fallimento nell'alleviare la sofferenza della mamma.

Le altre infermiere erano favolose.

È molto difficile lavorare con loro, il personale mi ha detto che hai solo 2 settimane per fissare un appuntamento dopo aver ricevuto la loro lettera, quindi annullano il rinvio del tuo medico. Ogni volta che chiamo ricevo una storia diversa dal personale, sembra che gli piaccia spiegare perché non possono aiutare invece di trovare una soluzione - è come se fossero pagati per impedirti di accedere alle cure. Mi dispiace per tutti quegli anziani che cercano di ottenere aiuto per migliorare la loro salute. Chiudi questo posto e apri un gruppo molto migliore al loro posto dove le loro azioni corrispondono alle loro parole (= integrità) e il servizio è aiutare le persone! Ci sono dottori meravigliosi a Richmond, questo posto sta deludendo tutti a Richmond.
