Sono stato alla East Cascade Security per anni, e ora che ho venduto la mia casa, mi chiedono quasi mille dollari per terminare il mio servizio con loro. Nel luglio del 2016 mi sono iscritto a un piano di manutenzione quando un tecnico dell'assistenza è venuto a casa mia per cambiare alcune batterie del dispositivo. Mi ha consegnato un blocco per appunti e ho firmato dove indicato. Non ha detto una parola sul fatto che si trattasse di un contratto vincolante di tre anni. Passando rapidamente alla vendita della mia casa a novembre 2017, mi sono stati addebitati i mesi rimanenti di quel contratto triennale con East Cascade Security, una sussidiaria di Vyanet. Non importa che io e mio marito siamo stati buoni clienti per sedici anni, in più. La somma non è un piccolo successo per i portafogli della maggior parte delle persone.
