TradottoMio padre ha fatto preparare le tasse a Carpenter e Langford per oltre 20 anni. Dopo la sua morte li ho contattati per ottenere il loro aiuto nella preparazione delle sue tasse. Sono rimasto enormemente deluso da quanto fossero poco professionali e decisamente scortesi.
Ho lavorato con Shaun Tobin e Joe Langford. Sebbene li abbia contattati prima della scadenza del deposito del 2019, non mi hanno risposto fino al 30 settembre, quando non era più possibile presentare in tempo. Quando sono stato contattato, si sono rivolti a me con il nome di mio padre, apparentemente non ricordando che avevo detto loro che era morto.
Il problema più grande, tuttavia, è che sono stati negligenti nel preparare le tasse di mio padre. Dopo aver pensato che tutto fosse stato archiviato senza problemi, ho ricevuto un avviso dall'IRS che dovevamo ancora $ 56.000 di tasse che includevano (1) sanzioni per il pagamento iniziale dell'importo sbagliato, (2) interessi e (3) un errore di calcolo di $ 50.000.
Quando ho inoltrato l'avviso di penalità a Joe e Shaun, erano indifferenti, condiscendenti e maleducati. Hanno indicato che non hanno presentato le tasse in tempo perché mio padre ha regolarmente presentato le tasse in ritardo (come hanno scelto di presentare in ritardo).
Da parte sua, Shaun ha difeso il suo errore di calcolo perché ha detto che mio padre aveva un credito per pagamenti in eccesso, che ha detratto dall'importo che mi aveva detto di pagare, ma a quanto pare quel credito per pagamenti in eccesso è stato rimborsato. Il buon consiglio sarebbe stato quello di pagare preventivamente quei 50k per evitare le sanzioni significative in caso di rimborso del pagamento in eccesso, come apparentemente è successo qui.
Shaun ha risposto alla mia e-mail dicendo: "Tieni presente che l'IRS è un disastro disfunzionale e non sappiamo né controlliamo quello che fanno". L'unico aiuto che ha offerto è stato dire che poteva contattare l'IRS ma non avrebbero risposto alle chiamate (li ho chiamati e sono riuscito a passare).
Quando ho chiesto che aiutassero a risolvere i problemi con l'IRS, non hanno mai risposto. Dopo aver atteso 3 settimane per una risposta, ho inviato un'e-mail e ho detto che non ero interessato a lavorare con loro e ho chiesto un rimborso delle spese di preparazione.
Questa è la mia email più recente da Shaun:
"Sono stanco di leggere tutta questa prepotenza quasi legale. Se vuoi discutere di questo argomento, chiamami in ufficio. Se pensi di avere una causa per un'azione civile, vai avanti e archivia."
Quindi non li consiglierei. Dato il loro cattivo consiglio, sto anche segnalando la loro azienda all'IRS e al Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
