Avevamo già aperto quel muro e gli abbiamo detto cosa avrebbe trovato, ma eravamo d'accordo che questo fosse il primo passo. Nel contratto, si diceva: "Questa stima è solo per lavoro esplorativo. Per ispezionare il muro per la struttura, il cablaggio e qualsiasi impianto idraulico nel muro. Questa stima non è in alcun modo una garanzia che ripareremo o continueremo con la ristrutturazione proposta del Piano B. Questa stima è solo dimostrativa. Blue Line Builders può scegliere di non procedere con il Piano B a causa di problemi strutturali. " Siamo andati avanti e abbiamo pagato la demo che avevamo già segnato sul muro e che francamente avremmo potuto facilmente fare da soli.
Il giovane che ha svolto il lavoro è stato molto gentile e ordinato. Ha scattato un sacco di foto mentre era qui. Ho aspettato 2 settimane, ho inviato un'e-mail a Blueline due volte per scoprire i passaggi successivi. Dan alla fine ha risposto che avrebbe dovuto "riesaminare ciò che era stato aperto e vedere se questo progetto sarebbe stato qualcosa in cui avrei voluto essere coinvolto". Ero preoccupato quando ho letto questo perché sapevo che nulla è stato scoperto strutturalmente per farli decidere di non eseguire questo lavoro - perché iniziare se non hai mai inteso continuare senza giustificazione? Perché sprecare tempo a vicenda?
Dan è uscito il 20 novembre, è stato qui da meno di 5 minuti, ha detto che aveva bisogno che il suo lavoratore uscisse e rimuovesse più isolamento nel soffitto per avere una buona idea del muro portante. Quindi lo stesso giovane è uscito di nuovo e ha rimosso una buona parte del mio isolamento per rendere visibile l'area della soffitta. E questo è tutto. Da allora non li ho più sentiti. Ho un buco di 4,5 x 7 piedi nel mio ingresso e ora sto cercando un altro appaltatore. Non so perché hanno iniziato se questo non sembrava essere il tipo di lavoro che si adattava al loro programma / tipo di ristrutturazione. Non hanno imparato nulla dallo strappo del muro a secco che li avrebbe portati a decidere di non continuare a lavorare con noi. Vorrei che avessero semplicemente detto di no, non interessati.
AGGIORNAMENTO: Dopo questa recensione, Dale mi ha contattato e ha detto che questa non era l'esperienza che voleva che facessi e si è offerto di tornare gratuitamente per riparare il buco. Ho rifiutato ma gli ho detto che ho apprezzato l'offerta. Gli ho chiesto di essere più franco sul lavoro che potrebbe non essere il loro balia in futuro, e ci siamo lasciati in buoni rapporti.
Appaltatori e personale d'ufficio fantastici. Sono andato ben oltre per finire la mia ricostruzione dopo un'alluvione. Consiglio vivamente.
