Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County: accendere il potere e la promessa della giovinezza
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County è un'organizzazione senza scopo di lucro che serve la comunità da oltre 50 anni. La nostra missione è creare e supportare relazioni di mentoring individuali che accendono il potere e la promessa dei giovani. Crediamo che ogni bambino abbia un potenziale, ma non tutti hanno qualcuno che lo aiuti a sbloccarlo. È qui che entriamo in gioco.
I nostri programmi sono progettati per abbinare i bambini di età compresa tra 6 e 18 anni a mentori adulti premurosi che possono fornire guida, supporto e amicizia. Crediamo che queste relazioni abbiano il potere di cambiare la vita, non solo per i bambini coinvolti, ma anche per le loro famiglie e comunità.
Offriamo due programmi principali: mentoring basato sulla comunità e mentoring basato sulla scuola. Nel mentoring basato sulla comunità, i volontari incontrano di persona i propri allievi una volta alla settimana per almeno un anno. Si impegnano in attività come andare nei musei, fare sport o giocare insieme o semplicemente uscire insieme.
Nel programma School-Based Mentoring i volontari si incontrano con i loro allievi a scuola durante l'ora di pranzo o dopo l'orario scolastico una volta alla settimana per tutto l'anno accademico. Questo programma consente ai mentori di fornire supporto accademico costruendo allo stesso tempo relazioni significative con i loro allievi.
La nostra organizzazione fa affidamento sulle donazioni di persone come te che vogliono fare la differenza nella nostra comunità sostenendo la nostra missione. La tua donazione ci aiuterà a continuare a fornire gratuitamente servizi di mentoring di qualità alle famiglie che ne hanno più bisogno.
Il volontariato è un altro modo in cui puoi essere coinvolto con Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County! In qualità di mentore volontario, verrai abbinato a un bambino in base ai tuoi interessi e alla tua disponibilità; allora passerete del tempo insieme facendo cose che piacciono a entrambi!
