AHM Youth & Family Services è un'organizzazione senza scopo di lucro che fornisce salute mentale e servizi positivi per lo sviluppo giovanile a bambini, giovani e famiglie nelle quattro città di Andover, Hebron, Marlborough e Columbia. L'organizzazione è stata fondata nel 1983 con l'obiettivo di promuovere comportamenti sani tra i giovani e prevenire l'abuso di sostanze.

Ecco perché abbiamo adattato i nostri servizi per soddisfare le esigenze dei nostri clienti durante questi tempi senza precedenti.
Il nostro team di terapisti autorizzati offre sessioni di consulenza individuale per bambini e adolescenti che stanno vivendo problemi emotivi o comportamentali. Offriamo anche sessioni di terapia familiare che aiutano i genitori a migliorare le loro capacità comunicative e rafforzare le loro relazioni con i loro figli. I nostri terapisti utilizzano pratiche basate sull'evidenza come la terapia cognitivo-comportamentale (CBT) e la terapia comportamentale dialettica (DBT) per aiutare i clienti a raggiungere i loro obiettivi.
Oltre ai servizi di consulenza, AHM offre una varietà di programmi che promuovono lo sviluppo positivo dei giovani. I nostri programmi doposcuola offrono agli studenti un ambiente sicuro per socializzare con i coetanei mentre partecipano ad attività divertenti come sport, arti e mestieri, lezioni di cucina, ecc. Offriamo anche programmi di formazione alla leadership che insegnano ai giovani come diventare leader efficaci nel loro comunità.
Uno dei nostri programmi di punta si chiama "Youth Action Council". Questo programma dà potere ai giovani dando loro voce nei processi decisionali locali. Il consiglio è composto da studenti delle scuole superiori di ogni città che si incontrano regolarmente con i leader della comunità per discutere questioni che riguardano i giovani nelle loro comunità. Attraverso questo programma, gli studenti apprendono abilità preziose come parlare in pubblico, advocacy, lavoro di squadra e risoluzione dei problemi.
Un altro programma offerto da AHM si chiama "Parenting Wisely". Questo programma fornisce ai genitori strumenti pratici per crescere bambini sani che fanno buone scelte. Il programma copre argomenti come abilità comunicative, strategie disciplinari, educazione alla prevenzione della droga, ecc.
In AHM Youth & Family Services crediamo che ogni bambino meriti un'opportunità di successo indipendentemente dal suo background o dalle circostanze. Ecco perché offriamo commissioni decrescenti basate sul reddito in modo che tutti possano accedere ai nostri servizi indipendentemente dalla situazione finanziaria.
